Need to overhaul MP for this game...

I have been playing this game since yesterday and played many hours. If they are using dedicated servers for this game they are broken. I have seen time and time again myself pulling up on someone and firing just to be lagged to death. The single player
campaign so far has been awesome. I am definitely happy with that. Please, if any Sledgehammer games people are watching, you did a good job with the game, but fix the connections issues.

How's everyone liking the beta so far?

Really enjoying the game, but the MP needs a SERIOUS overhaul. Loot is rewarded randomly, at best. I can melee kill someone, and before they die, they still have time to get a few more shots off to kill me somehow. And the secondary weapons need some
tweaking (why is a shotgun killing me with one shot from ten feet away?)

Doubt it as they need the 360 servers for backwards compatibilty to work as it is at the moment.

It wouldn't need a major overhaul of the forums either,other gamercard generator sites include your xbox one games & none of them had a major overhaul so why not the official Microsoft/xbox site?

I know that dedicated servers can still lag. I am hoping the way things are it is because of the Double XP. Usually with previous title entries the moment they say that activate double xp and tell everyone, people get on to play and bog everything down.
Also, being the launch week of the game I am thinking that is part of the reason. I will have to see with future playings of the games MP off of the double xp weekend. The game is pretty balanced, which is good. I like it, just having bad issues with lag...

There are no dedicated servers, and there likely never will be for CoD. If you stop to consider the massive cost it would take to run dedicated servers for CoD, with new ones having to be added without taking the old ones away (otherwise people will go ape),
even a franchise that makes as much as CoD couldn't sustain that for long.

 

Bull. They could charge a server fee of $2 a month if the costs were that high and people would pay it

 

HAH! They can barely get people to pony up for World of Warcraft, which has a real, demonstrated need for the subscription fee and literally could not work without it.

You think the people that make up the CoD community would do anything besides burn AV HQ to the ground if they charged a server fee?

 

I played tonight for a couple hours and I was so stunned by what I was experiencing that I had to quit. The only other title that I flat out quit on was MW3 as it was unplayable IMO. I've always played hardcore but tonight I ventured in to core because
I wanted to try the Atlas Gorge map. I lost most of gun fights I was in but what I was seeing in the killcam infuriated me. Most of the time I was aimed well to the right or left on my target when on my screen I was dead on. In a couple of instances it
was so bad that it didn't even show me facing them or even raising my gun when on my screen I actually got off a couple rounds on target with hit markers. I would leave this room only to be dropped right back in to it. The game is just horrible right now.
Thankfully GTA is out next week and I can move on.

 

Played for over two hours tonight with my buddies and only had one or two really laggy matches, the rest were solid. Sucks that so many people are experiencing horrible lag and I hope they fix it for everyone but I can't say that I've experienced anything
like what people are running into.

 

Most of the time dedicated servers usually are for the PC players. Could not find any where they have quoted it would be for both.

The problem even with dedicated servers is when you get 7 people running at a high internet speed versus 3 who were thrown in due to no lobbies on their end who run a lower speed. So you get a lot of lag.

I tend to play the classic no bounce maps which seems to help. What I have learned so far - is you may as well stay on one side of the map because you will always have team mates who push the spawn points and by the time I get to the middle the enemy is
already behind me. I really miss the huge MW2 maps where spawns were a bit more offset.
