Need to change a child account into a parent/adult account.

Hello, my daughter has had her Xbox for a few years now and I think she's old enough to have 0 restriction on her console, because there are a lot of silly things she still needs help fixing, which frustrates us both. I changed her account age to mine so she's an adult in the system, but it's still saying she's a child account, and a parent needs to change certain settings (even simple ones, like not displaying her real name). How to I make her the organizer of my family group, so she can fully access all settings?

Only a parental (adult account) can change the privacy settings for a child account. Your parents should open an adult account and add your child account to it.

The easiest way to see if child or adult, when you changed the settings if you didn't need a parent account to log in you have an adult account. If it asked for parent to sign in then you have a child account.

Hi, is your account under parental controls ?

If that's the case then the parental account will need to sign in and change any restrictions on your account.

If that's not the case and your account is an adult account and you also have a child account signed in that has content restrictions set then those restrictions will also affect the adult account until the child account signs out.

Unfortunately no. Adult accounts cannot be changed to child accounts. So even if you do change the email, the account will still be an adult and there would be no way to use parental controls on the account. He would either need to continue using the account
or start over on his child account.

Parental restrictions are there for a reason. If it was simple to bypass, there would be no reason for them. As far as I know, you will need the details of the parent account to change any settings on the child account. Other then that, you will have to
wait until the child account reaches the adult age for your area, and then promote it to an adult.
