need someone with ipv6 knowledge

Before I get comments about hard lining that is not the issue there is more to it im a welder not in IT but have a rudimentary understanding of networking in need of someone to bounce some theories off of............

Calling IPv6 overkill is mild. It provides 6.67 * 10^27 IPv6 addresses per square meter on the planet. It's not just costly. I've never met an IT guy excited for it. NAT'ing pretty much solved our problem of running out. In short we don't need IPv6. That's
why no one is in any hurry to implement it. Some countries are strictly IPv6. It does have it's benefits as someone pointed out with security. No need for a DHCP server either.

IPv6 is not really needed in the household, but ISP's use ipv6 with ipv4 or just ipv6 externally, this is automatically done by the router so nothing to setup, if you want ipv6 inside the house then you need to access your router settings.

If you have ipv6 assigned by your ISP then your xbox will see this.

I have the same issue so I did some research and IPv6 is slowly being rolled out by Verizon but I couldn't find out what areas have it so I called Verizon and the tech I spoke to had no Idea what IPv6 was lol he checked with a co-worker who said it's not
in my area and they had no timeframe for the change.

I'm not too put off by the lack of knowledge because I had Comcast not too long ago and their network is really bad (and so was the support) in my area while Verizon's speed and reliability are top notch so I will quietly and patiently wait and hope I get
someone who knows what IPv6 is the next time I call.
