Need Mouse Suggestions

Hi Everyone, this is to me a weird problem and I may not get any answers but I am up against a problem that has me baffled and frustrated and I don't know which way to turn. I have built a really nice computer system; state of the art tower, 2 24" monitors, Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speaker system, 2 printers, and a lot of other neat goodies. I use this computer hard doing a lot of multi-tasking with a lot of windows open which means a lot of mousing and the one component that is still stuck in the past is the Mouse. I am using and have used for the past 4 or 5 years the Logitech M510 Wlreless Mouse which is a symmetrical Mouse. The Mouse is entry level, low end but it gets the job done but I keep wanting something better and yet every time I buy a better Mouse I wind up in pain and sometimes extreme pain in either my hand, my wrist, my upper forearm, or my elbow and I can't figure out what is going on, what I may be doing wrong, and most importantly what I need to do to fix this problem. For the record I am right-handed and I have always had a problem with tensing up and my hands are no exception. The Logitech M510 Mouse causes me a minimum of discomfort. Twenty years ago when I first got into computers I used the Microsoft Wheel Mouse and had no problems at all. I have also used Mouses like the Logitech M185, M310, or M325 and have had no problems. Also, the generic Mice that come with a lot of computers like the Dell, and HP clones do not cause me pain. I do know that whenever I have tried to use an "Ergo" (Asymmetrical) Mouse it has resulted in pain and I have to put it in a drawer and go back to the Logitech M510 Mouse.

I would really like to get an entry to mid level Gaming Mouse that has controls that I can adjust on the fly but the ones I have tried end up causing me pain and I have had to take them back to the store. A partial list of what I have used includes the Corsair Mice, the Black Web Gaming Mouse, the Ghost Manta M001 Mouse, a couple of Logitech Mice like the G305, G603, G703, and the G300S. All of these Mice wind up causing me pain within 3 to 4 days and I wind up taking them back. I was in the store over this past weekend and they had the Logitech G502 on clearance marked down to $29 so I figured for that price I had nothing to lose and bought it. The first day and a half were good but then the pain started so I unhooked it and it will go back this weekend.

I have a strong feeling that my pain issues may have to do with the shape of the Mice I am trying to use but I have absolutely what part of the shape is hurting me or what to do about it. I know that the M510 Mouse is a low profile Mouse, fairly narrow, and the "hump" is about 2/3 of the way towards the rear of the mouse. The other Mice have been wider, longer, and in many cases the "hump" has been more in the middle.

From what I have written can anyone tell me what is going on? Also, can anyone suggest a reasonably priced Gaming Mouse that I can use without the pain? Short of starting to take Oxy or some other pain killer I am ready to give up on the idea of a better mouse for my system unless someone can think of something that I haven't. Thanks everyone.
