Need Help With Storage Issues

a while ago my external storage stopped working and wasn't showing anything and when i try to install games that was on that hard drive it would get to a certain point and just stop the installation even when i said to resume it,
it would just go really slow then stop again. i think my saves and game data has been corrupted, i need help to figure out how to fix this because i had like over 35 games on that.

Have you tried going to manage storage section of the settings app?

See if you can format it from there.

Hey there, sounds like the drive may be failing. Your save data should be backed up to the cloud. If you disconnect the drive then install one of the titles on the internal storage of the console is it finishing or getting stuck as well?

yes it does get suck and i'm not sure if its the game disks or the console. i have gotten the external hard drive to work but the installations still stop

i believe so too due to both hard drives work fine on my pc, and if i wanted to use them for gaming storage i could. sadly, sending them to a friend to test isn't an option, and if it was, assuming it worked for them, we wouldn't be any closer as to why its not doing what it should on my console and with about 8 or 9 different salutions trying to solve the problem, all of which should of worked if the console was the problem, as much as i believe it IS the console, i have to try all options and assume the possibility it might have something to do with the type of hard drive. and if i did buy a memory stick that meets the requirements, at least i can say i tried

I've tried with other hard drives. everything i've tested seems to work as normal, even after doing what was in that video, it then detected the hard drive, asking if it needs formatting, but once i clicked the 'media' option, back to square one. its as if everything works fine, except the control will not detect NTFS formated hard drives
