need help with email problem.

my email account got hacked into and I lost it ages ago, I managed to change my alias on my Microsoft account from old email, to new. now my account asks me for verification everytime I try and do anything, and my phone number is linked fine, but my old
email is also there and can't be changed, how can I change it?

You will need to turn off 2 step verification on this page:
https://account.live.com/proofs/manage And then re-enable it with an email or phone that you have access to. Also, on that page, remove the email you can't access anymore from your proofs list if it's still there.
