    Need help with dolby digital audio


    I bought a Xbox series S yesterday and I’m running into issues getting the audio to work. I use a Lovesac Stealthtech via e-ARC on my LG C2 tv. However I’m not getting any audio options other than stereo uncompressed. I have not had any issues using 5.1 with anything else connected to my TV. (Amazon Fire Stick and PlayStation 5)

    Can someone offer any solutions?

    Xbox Series X Audio Delay 150-250ms (Stereo Uncompressed)

    The Xbox audio settings I have available are as follows:

    HDMI audio:

    * Stereo Uncompressed

    * Dolby Digital

    * Dolby Atmos for Home Theater

    Headset Format:

    * Stereo Uncompressed

    * Windows Sonic for Headphones

    * Dolby Atmos for Headphones

    * DTS Headphone:X

    Tried all of them. Nothing helped.

    Smartglass, Party Chat, Dolby Sound, and other limited or missing functions

    Right now digital audio is rumored to need a patch. If you use HDMI it should be fine, but there is a problem with Dolby encoding and digital audio....dont know how true this is as I haven't found anything official as of yet

    Could you go into the console settings, and see what settings you have put for digital audio? The Xbox has settings for (I think) Digital Stereo, Dolby Digital and Windows Audio Surround. Set it to Stereo or Dolby Digital Surround only. I know of no device
    that supports the Windows Media Audio thing.

    To what audio equipment are you connecting your console? Your TV only, or are you using an AV reciever or audio amplifier to get sound?

    5.1 Uncompressed audio via HDMI connection

    It isn't possible for any TV to pass through uncompressed 5.1 audio but they can pass through Dolby Digital 5.1 format which is compressed.

    What you need to do is tell the Xbox to output Bitstream audio via HDMI and set the Bitstream format to Dolby Digital. If you do this your TV will be able to send the 5.1 surround audio to your soundbar via its optical cable.

    Hi Sgt7212, yes in the Optical Audio you need to select 'Bitstream Out'. After that, try selecting 'Dolby Digital'. This worked for me. Apparently my Astro headphones are not compatible with 'DTS Digital Sound'. When selecting 'Dolby Digital' it should be
    in surround sound if your speakers, amp or headset are compatible.
