Need help with a Minecraft gift code issue. Need Microsoft Rep please.

I'm trying to sort out an issue for a friend here so I'm looking for imformation.

About a week ago, he had Minecraft purchased for him via the Microsoft store using a gift code.

He used the gift code only to realize afterwards that the product was for an Xbox console and not windows 10. He needs the Windows 10 version as he does not own a console.

So, I need to find out if it is possible to exchange his game license from the Xbox version to the windows 10 version.

Just to be explicit: The version he got is titled "Minecraft" and does not allow him to install it on his desktop computer. The Version we'd like to have it replaced with is "Mincraft for Windows 10"

Can we make this happen??

Thank you for posting on Xbox Forums. In regards to your issue, we here at forums won't be able to assist you with trying to replace your code for Minecraft. However, it would be best if you try to
Contact Support as they would have options for you in regards to replacing the code.

Try this:

Log into Support.Xbox.com
Scroll down, Click on Contact Us
Step 1: Click on Ask a Question
Step 2 : Select your Product
Step 3 : Select your Issue
- Select – Call me back

Did you buy a Microsoft gift card or actual Vbuck gift card?

if you purchased a vbuck gift card you need to go to this link https://www.epicgames.com/fortnite/vbuckscard you need to login to HER account because it supplies
a code for ONLY a specific account that here vbuck gift card was redeemed on. Please log in to HER account and redeem the code. then you have the option to select which platform. select Xbox and you will be given another code specifically for the Xbox to redeem
on her account.

For this kind of issue I would recommend to directly contact to the Mojang support team they're the one who supporting the Minecraft game and they have the right tools that can further assist you if incase you encounter some issue with redeeming the Minecraft Legend.

as the forum doesn't deal With accounts directly you would need to go through to xbox support or contact the retailer who sold you the product.
