Need help on Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, mission 2: Raxus Prime

I'm having major difficulties with mission 2: Raxus Prime. I looked up several walk-throughs on YouTube to figure out what's wrong and I've discovered this video:

From 6:03-6:08 in this video, he force lifts the platform. The problem is when I try that, the platform only rises about 1/4 of the way. When I let go, it drops back down. I cannot continue the mission without this raised platform.

I thought for a while that it was glitch in the game. I exchanged one (used) copy for another, but I still have the same problem.

I've been working on this for almost a week now, and I'm completely out of ideas. Anybody out there have suggestions?

Try lifting from a different position. Not sure if same video but I found this maybe it will help.

 

Looks like the same video but I noticed the video shows him lift it from the front and I think I always got it from his left on a platform. The platform is tricky to get from what

I remember.

 

I just tried alternate positions, including the side platform to the left, but nothing works...
