    The headset is a Sony Mdr extra bass.i also connected some earbuds to the same controller and they worked. But why arent my headphones working. i can hear through them. im lost here can someone help...

    My Mic isn't working they can hear me talk. I can hear the game sounds like bullets. But i cant hear them talking

    the other microsoft worker i talked to said it was the preview programs fault

    I take it that your Sony headphones use a separate, detachable cable for wired audio, assuming it's something like

    this model    .

    The 3.5mm connector on your cable should have four sections (left, right, mic, ground). Review "Standards for audio jacks" on this support page:

    http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/connect-compatible-headset

    Now, I do not know for sure if Sony intended for the microphone signal to be transferred over a 3.5mm cable, so you'll want to review your headphone manual or contact Sony.
