What exactly are you wanting to know? If you go for the prepaid card you would be paying the $19.99, not the $1. The $1 promotion starts a recurring subscription which is why you need another payment method on file.

But i don't think you can use gift cards to use for a gold subscription. The only reason is because as mentioned above. You need to verify with a credit/debit card in order for it to renew the subscription.
