    Need help choosing a wireless headset... Razer Thresher or Turtle Beach Stealth 700?


    HELP! While I am fairly tech savvy, I am not really a big gamer. I am trying to select the best wireless headset for my 14-year-old nephew for Christmas. I think I have it narrowed down to Razer Thresher or the Turtle Beach Stealth 700. I love the build
    quality of the Razer Thresher (https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Thresher-Xbox-One-Retractable/dp/B07471GW41) with the metal frame, memory foam ear cushions, and retractable
    mic. But the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 has a lot of attractive features like the noise canceling, Bluetooth option, and ability to customize levels and other things in an android or iphone app.

    My gut is telling me the Razer Thresher. Please note that the Razor Thresher is different from the Thresher Ultimate model. They look identical, but the regular Thresher only does Windows Sonic virtual surround sound and therefore does not require a seperate
    transmitter -- it connects directly to the Xbox One console. The Thresher Ultimate does Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound, but I hear that many prefer to leave that option off anyway.

    Thoughts?!!

    You can wait for Microsoft to make a headset that you may or may not like. Or you can choose one of the many options already out there by companies dedicated to making headsets.

    SteelSeries Support - "The USB wireless transmitter will not be used at all on Xbox since it is not compatible.This is unfortunately due to limitations of the Xbox One and using USB for chat."

    - So this means that SteelSeries didn't make their USB transmitter compatible with Xbox

    "This has been a major disappointment to learn that the support is lacking in this area (wireless headset compatibility)"

    - Hmm...Astro, Plantronics, Razer and Turtlebeach are just some of the manufacturers who seem to have managed figure out how to make their USB wireless design and headsets functional with the Xbox One.

    - Is this really and Xbox issue or a headset manufacturer issue?

    the sound quality of wired headsets are generally better but the higher end more expensive wireless headsets are pretty good these days, i have a pair of turtle beach stealth 700 and i love them great wireless headset but upgraded to the turtle beach elite

    Same issue but I'm using Razer Ripsaw and my headset is Turtle Beach Stealth 700s. Terrible that this hasn't been dealt with yet...I've had this problem for months now and have never gotten an answer from Microsoft about the issue.
