Need help adding existing console to xbox app.

Earlier, i was messing around in the app and mistakenly removed my registered console from the app for remote play. I keep trying to set up my console again under existing console. I’ve checked the enabled remote features box. Both on the same network. It will come up and say “hit enable” when the prompt appears in the app but it stops right there. It wont add the console. The console end, it says “ready to go.” Ive hard reset the console. Restarted my phone. Uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. Ive tried EVERYTHING im told to do and no dice. Please someone help me.

You are selecting the option to add a new console instead of adding an existing console. On the Xbox app, click the console button in the top right, and select "Add an existing console" instead of "Set up a new console".

If you're using the Xbox app, the PC app hasn't added that option yet. If you can use the Console Companion app you should be able to do it there or you'll need to use the console or mobile app.

The console companion app has been discontinued so any new features will only be added to the Xbox app.

so the answer is yes i need to add the xbox app to my computer?

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

You may need to set up your new console on the Xbox App.

On your home screen, you will see the Xbox icon on the top right, you can click on that and then click on "Add an existing console" to add your new console.

You can also use the Xbox Game Pass App.

Let me help you with your concern today. Please note that this is a public forum, I will be responding to you in short period of time and I apologize for a delay in response. As I am merely a user trying to provide insight and information that may be helpful.

The code will only show up on the screen while you are setting up an Xbox console. You will have to select "Add an existing console" and not "Setup a new console" on your Xbox app so that it won't ask you for a code.

Just Enable remote features on your Xbox console, then go to Xbox app, set up a console > add an existing console > next > then they will be connected. Make sure to sign in on the Xbox app using the same account on your console.
