    Narrator is off but still narrates


    I have never used narrator but randomly it will turn on when using Forza Horizon 5. When I check the option in the menu Narrator is not turned on. If I turn it on and then if again it says exiting narrator, but it continues to narrate on Horizon 5. Sometimes it has turned off doing this but at the moment it is still annoyingly narrating! Please help

    If you go to Xbox Settings > accessibility > narrator

    There are you able to see the "Enable narrator" option ticked?
    Or its completely un ticked?

    The factory reset that you performed removed everything?
    Or you selected keep my games and apps?

    Not surprising really....a lot of things reset themselves in that game...Radio stations, for example, will change to a different one after a race.

    I can't check as my console isn't on but, if I recall, when you load up the game, on the initial loading screen (where you press A to continue) after the credits, I am sure there is an accessibility option (maybe press B or something?)...perhaps see if there's anything there regarding narration?

    Beyond that, it isn't a Known Issue, not that the list is an exhaustive one but may be worth sending a ticket in about it....though I wouldn't expect anything to be done anytime soon, if at all:

    Hi Matt,

    If you only hear the narrator in FH5, then it would be your in-game settings and not any settings on your console as this would apply to all supported games and apps. This shouldn’t be enabled by itself though.

    From the game, go to Settings > Accessibility > Screen Reader and select Default > Off. You may need to restart the game for these updated settings to take affect.
