My xbox wont read one game.

Now you are thinking my xbox laser is broken. But every other game i have works i even took said game to a friends and it works on his console. I had two friends bring copies of the game in perfect condition....Still did not work. So i ask can a console
refuse and single out a game? This is the most annoying thing i even bought the game new again and nothing! All i get is this game is Damaged or dirty message.

Listen to this man! I had this issue with several of my games and it instantly got fixed after I installed them. It is very easy to do and does not take very long.

 

You could always install your friends copy and then just use your disc when you play the game, as the console only has to read your discs security.

I can`t imagine a console can single out a disc but if you console is very old the laser could be getting weak and is unable to read the latest types of discs.

Your disc is probably dirty/damaged. It happens to the best of us. My physical copy of Borderlands won't read on my 360, but it does on a friend's 360. I borrowed his disc, installed and can play now. Same w/ Reach.

 

If you read the post carefully the op has stated that two of his friends have the same game and neither of their copies of the game will run on his console.

Yet the ops copy of the game which wont run on his own console will run on his friends console.

So he can`t install as his console wont read any copies of that particular game title.

Very strange.

 

how old is your console and which game is it? there is scratch fixer stuff made by maxell that fixes that for me. my GTA 4 got that message all of a sudden. i use the stuff and the game worked fined afterwards. i bought batman akram origins used from gamestop.
got the message and then use that scratch fixer kit now the game works fine. just follow the directions on how the use it.

 

Yes you`re right paraffin, i read it wrong.

Sometimes though a game that won`t run will still install, i have GTA4 thats like that so maybe worth a try.

 

I should have said sooner the game is GTA 5. So i cant just install it when i use the install disc and launch it i get the error. So i cannot install and the disc works on other console i even bought a new version of the game still didnt work. And i already
used a lens cleaner so.....I do not know what to do other then buying it on Xboxlive.

 

Buy another copy!! Use the old one as a trade in Make a big deal about it!!!!

Or use the console you said it works on.......
