my xbox system is screwed

lately on xbox i join a party and the party ovee that i had on yeah the names dissapeared and i was left with a faint rectangle stuck on my screen to make matters worst i no longer recieve notifacations at all they dont pop up or appear in the notifactions
tab this is really annoying aswell as now when i hold down the home button so the tab can show up that lets me turn of my controller the xbox or report and problem yeah that when i hold it down it does nothing but send me to the tab on the left screen can
someone please help this is furstating

Is my xbox screwed?

So ever since maybe 3 months ago my Xbox One all the sudden lost connection to xbox live. I have tried absolutely everything. Hard reset, trying all the network settings, using a different controller, TV, etc. , even unplugging my xbox completely for a week,
but nothing has worked. My xbox is still on the update behind the newest one. Also, everytime the xbox turns on, and the home screen appears, well, there is no home screen. It's been blank except for the my games and apps and my background. there's also a
line that's going through the middle. I hope i can get some help. Or should i just get a new xbox?

It may be worth trying to carry out an offline update to the console to see if this may help at all.

wow no when i go on my friends message the keyboard doesnt show up but i can hear the noise when you move the left stick

Thank you Jesse but believe it or not I literally got the screw out about five minutes ago by turning the Xbox upside down and gently shaking it. Took about twenty minutes though, thought it was hopeless. But thank you again Jesse, I never would have thought about sending it to Microsoft.

First I believe if the screw is resting on one corner of the console, then it should be safe and won't cause any internal damage. However, if you'd like to get it out I'll suggest you don't do that yourself, rather send the device to Microsoft for warranty fix and they'll get it out for you. agreed i had a needs work on my account and wore i like a badge of honor saying hey i got screwed over by the xbox report system
