    My Xbox series x is suddenly saying that the service is unavailable, with a. 0x80a40401


    I’m suddenly getting a 0x80a40401 service unavailable code, won’t let me sign in at all, I’ve reset the series x, reset the internet, reset my password nothing is working, please help

    Thanks for checking, Tyrelli. Can you try setting up a wired connection?

    Please also try changing your DNS. Go to Settings > Network > Advanced Settings > DNS settings > manual

    Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8

    Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4

    then check again.

    May I know the what region is the Xbox set to? Can you try connecting your console to a mobile network to see if it will work?

    Can you try to check if you can sign in to a different profile? Please also sign in at account.live.com/reputationcheck.

    Add your phone number, and then select Send code.

    Get the code from the text message sent to your phone, enter it on the webpage, and select Submit.



    On your Xbox, press and hold the Xbox button on your controller, select Restart console > Restart, and then sign back in.
