My Xbox series X controller is slowing down my computer a lot.

So I bought an Xbox series X controller for my PC (in another country, not sure if that makes a difference though) and I got back and decided to try my controller out. For some reason, when using it with the wireless dongle, it severely slows down my computer. Websites take for ever to load, youtube videos don't play, and games take forever to open. I have no idea what the issue is and how to fix it.

Edit: one thing I want to add is for some reason the issue doesn't go away when I unplug the dongle.

    :)

Hello there, this is Manuela. I'm an Independent Advisor and community user like you, ready to assist with this.
    Not a Microsoft employee.

I’m sorry to hear you’re having some trouble when using your controller. Let’s try to sort this out.

However, before that, I would like to ask the following questions:

Is this the controller and dongle you purchased?
    https://www.xbox.com/en-US/accessories/controll...

Are you running Windows 10 or Windows 11?
Do you experience the same if you try to connect the controller with a USB cable instead of the wireless connection?
What procedures you tried to fix this prior to your post creation?

Slow Xbox one x (Not Series Console)

Fyi series consoles are just xboxes series x or s

    Not xbox one series

    Just to reduce the confusion

You gotta remember people mistake xbox one x for a series x when it comes to requirements for example flight simulator

With xbox one games they don't have a listing for s or x they are all compatible

Where series s or x just means digital or disk

Disk games don't work with series s or one s digital edition

    Back to your problem.

Are you using an external hdd ?

Also when it slows down again is it because you are filling up your hdd?

As space becomes less computers do slow down

It would be better to get an external drive and put infrequent games on there so you don't too much things on your internal drive

My Controller is Severely Messing up my PC in every game I play with it.

That’s not a controller issue, the Xbox Wireless Controllers don’t have a reputation for obliterating computers. My controllers, which include the Series X|S version and the Xbox One version, both connect and work fine with it.

(With the exception of the Series X|S controller being almost completely unusable right now for me, due to firmware bugs. But even with those bugs, it didn’t screw up my computer or the game I was playing.)

Maybe the game you’re trying to play doesn’t have gamepad support?
