Unfortunately I’ve had the controller for longer than 90 days. It also happens with a different controller too, which makes me think it’s not specific to one controller.

Please advise?

as you said, the settings for vibrate are active both in the game and in the xbox, this is the only function on the xbox that could give this problem, the only thing left is the control, you can try to test on another device and take the doubt, on some cell phone or pc.

Your Xbox Series X/S controller should still work normally on Xbox One console.

Make sure to change your vibration settings.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then select Profile & system > Settings.
Select Accessibility > Controller, and then select Vibration settings.
If you have multiple controllers, choose the controller that you want to change and select Configure.
For an Elite Series 2 controller, select the configuration profile that you want to change, select Edit > Vibration, and then move the sliders to adjust the vibration.
For an Xbox Wireless Controller, select Turn on vibration to turn vibration on or off.

That’s not a controller issue, the Xbox Wireless Controllers don’t have a reputation for obliterating computers. My controllers, which include the Series X|S version and the Xbox One version, both connect and work fine with it.

(With the exception of the Series X|S controller being almost completely unusable right now for me, due to firmware bugs. But even with those bugs, it didn’t screw up my computer or the game I was playing.)

Maybe the game you’re trying to play doesn’t have gamepad support?
