    My Xbox Series S won’t open the network settings.


    I’ve had my Xbox series S for maybe about almost two years now and had no trouble with it since then. Although recently every time I try to connect to the internet it proceeds to not open the “Network settings” menu…every other menu like “Power options” or “Tv & display options” open up with no troubles…my internet box is not close to my Xbox. Making it hard to have a long running wire to have connected to my Xbox and the internet box. I’ve tried to reset my console, but when I do so..it won’t allow me to save my games or apps. Giving me a message that says “You need to be online to remove home xbox associations” but the thing is I can’t open the Network settings menu to connect to online. I’ve tried to find videos on my topic but get nothing of my topic. I need help desperately hoping there is some way to fix it on my own. Thank you for your time and consideration

    I'm Tim, an Independent Advisor here and a Microsoft user like you. I don't work for Microsoft and do not have access to any of your data on their system.

    When trying to reset the console, are you using the procedure of Settings > System > Console Info > Reset This Xbox > Reset and Keep my Games and Apps?

    If so, it maybe that you’ll need to temporary move the Xbox in order to be connected to your router via cable to complete.

    My son set up his V-bucks on his Xbox S series, but he listed it as an Xbox1. When I go to the second step with a code for Microsoft, it keeps spinning and won’t connect so I thought maybe it was because it’s not set up to the correct Xbox

    Thank you for posting in Xbox forum.

    It seems that your Xbox Series S will detect nothing after trying to connect to another network. Let's work on this together in finding the best possibl esolution to this issue.

    There are a few things you can try to resolve this issue:



    1. Make sure your Xbox Series S is within range of your WiFi network and that the network is turned on and broadcasting.



    2. Restart your Xbox Series S and try connecting to the network again.



    3. Check that your WiFi network is not hidden. If it is, you will need to manually enter the network name and password.



    4. Try resetting your network settings on your Xbox Series S. To do this, go to Settings > Network > Network settings > Advanced settings > Alternate MAC address > Clear.
