    So basically I have a new Xbox and before I saw these videos of people putting there Xbox to 120fps I tried it then suddenly my Xbox turned black I’m using a monitor that I got for Christmas and tried my to and other monitor

    Some monitors of this brand often present problems with consoles, as they are specifically designed for PCs.

    Here is a recent forum post from another user with a similar monitor

    It is recommended to use the monitor in 1080p quality if you want to use 120Hz, since another resolution can cause conflicts and if you had a higher resolution, it could be the cause of your black screen problem.

    Try this process to return to the console's default video parameters

    Turn off the console and disconnect the power cord to make sure the console is completely off.

    Plug it back in.

    Press and hold the Pair button and the Eject button at the same time, then press the power button on the console.

    Continue pressing the Pair button and Eject button for 10 to 15 seconds.

    You will hear two "power on" tones after a few seconds.

    You can release the Pair button and Eject button after the second power-up tone.

    This will take you to the troubleshooter, there you will need to reset the console, you can choose the option to keep games and applications.

    Regarding the option to use 120Hz, what model monitor do you have?

    What resolution did you have set at the time you set the refresh rate to 120Hz?

    Xbox one powering on to a black screen after logo screen.

    My friend recently had this start happening, he turned it on for the first time in a while to install Advanced Warfare and was met with a clicking noise for s few min, he turned it off and waited a few min, when he turned it back on it will show the Xbox
    boot logo and go straight to a black screen. He;s tried all every power down option and gets a black screen no matter what.
