  1. My Xbox Series S is incredibly slow

I’m almost always having a terrible time just with basic usage of my Xbox Series S.

Very often I get “*any particular app or game* has taken too long to start” even if I’m only trying to open settings.

Half the time it doesn’t auto update games so that when I go to play them I can’t because I have to wait for hours for them to update.

Most of the time the updates just refuse to start (they are fine once I can see how many MB have been downloaded but mostly it will just say “Updating…” and not update, on top of that the queue and update screens either take insanely long to load or don’t load at all without restarting the console multiple times.

Once I do manage to load a game it runs great, the problem is when I have to interact with the Xbox menus.

I have tried power cycling countless times and have reset the console to factory settings multiple times (which seem to be the only solutions suggested by anyone at Microsoft) and they do not help me at all. Also my internet speed and connection are both fine.

If there is actually a way to fix this I would love to know because it makes my experience very bad when I just want to use the device I paid money for.

    :)

Hi Flynn. My name is Kyle and I'm an independent advisor.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve been experiencing these issues with your Xbox, if a factory reset hasn't helped then it would be best to send it in for repair.

You can request a service for your console from your Microsoft account's devices page: https://support.microsoft.com/devices

Please reach back if you have further questions.

    Thanks,
    Kyle

Please add tenchu z on xbox series x/s

This is incredibly lame. It's why I brought a series s. Guess it's time to sell it for a 360

Brand New series S console won't stay connected to internet.

it's true i did suffer some lag and somewhat frequent crashes regularly but not regularly enough to really bother me as I don't play competitively, on my old One S i was able to play most games with little issue, from what I've seen the Series S is just a slimmer more powerful One S, and while connected properly feel about the same operation wise. I'm just struggling to understand why the Series S keeps turning its connection off. The only applications i have available to test at the moment are YouTube and Netflix and are able to run a decent 240p - 480p, downloads are incredibly slow but again the speed has never bothered me, on my One S the speeds were consistent even if i had to wait a few days, the Series S does seem to work a bit faster on the downloads actually but for some reason it just drops the connection.

Slow Xbox one x (Not Series Console)

Fyi series consoles are just xboxes series x or s

    Not xbox one series

    Just to reduce the confusion

You gotta remember people mistake xbox one x for a series x when it comes to requirements for example flight simulator

With xbox one games they don't have a listing for s or x they are all compatible

Where series s or x just means digital or disk

Disk games don't work with series s or one s digital edition

    Back to your problem.

Are you using an external hdd ?

Also when it slows down again is it because you are filling up your hdd?

As space becomes less computers do slow down

It would be better to get an external drive and put infrequent games on there so you don't too much things on your internal drive
