My Xbox series S has factory reset itself for some reason after a power cycle.

I turned on power save mode for a day and power cycled the unit a couple of different times, of course this is after doing everything else including a full factory reset over the last couple of weeks which had not resolved the issue. For some reason when
I turned off the power save mode this time, again after turning on power save mode for a day and power cycling the unit multiple times, my Kinect has not turned off in about 6 hours. I believe that the "software" issue which is causing all of these problems
finally went away by the "Xbox" resetting itself completely (hopefully I am not jumping the gun on this). Can't tell you why, but maybe this is the only way the "XBOX" will fully reset itself to work correctly with the Kinect. This would prove that the Kinect
itself is not the issue, and there should be a mass update to resolve this issue. STOP PAYING for repairs and replacements, and make Microsoft get its engineers to fix the problem.

for some reason the new update that rolled out for inside alpha member just doesn't work and ive tried to do everything from offline updates to just power cycling nothing works and in the end my xbox just factory reset itself and it still couldn't
update so i don't know what do to at this point.

Dont do a factory reset I'm hearing a lot of fails that way

That's odd! If you haven't yet, let's start with a
power cycle of your Xbox One S console. If the issue persists after that, I would recommend a

factory reset of your console, beginning with the "keep my games and apps" option. And if that still doesn't help the issue, I would suggest attempting a full factory reset.

I have this exact issue. His is my setup:

My son has a One S

I have a Series X

I was able to set the One S as my home xbox

I added his account to the Series X. Went to setting and then to my home xbox. At first, it is checked, then I get the circle, and the check mark is removed. Click on make this my home xbox on the Series X using his account, the circle spins, and then back to the "unchecked" box.

Checking his (One S), my account still has that xbox as my home xbox.

Reset networking, reset MAC address, flushed ARP cache on my switch and router, restarted all of those devices, and reset the Series X (both hard power cycle and factory reset). No luck.

Is it due to his account technically being a Xbox One profile and mine a Series X?

Also, my son's account is a child account but, unrestricted.
