My Xbox S series froze during play and not won't boot

Thank you. I did get a call from Microsoft and they helped me reset the system using the pairing button and the on/off button until a reset screen came up. I wouldn't have known otherwise. I appreciate the quick response.

Could you try performing a new physical power cycle one more time?

“Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.”

Note: You may want to wait 3–5 minutes before trying to turn on your console again.

I'm in the same boat. Downloaded the update, tried to play a game, Xbox froze and now won't boot up. It either freezes on the boot-up animation or shows red lights. MS support won't fix it and says I have to pay $100 for a repair.

If you are referring to an Xbox Series S console, you can only play with them if you are using the Xbox One backward compatible version on your Xbox Series S console.

You won't be able to play with each other if you are using the Xbox Series X/S version.
