Fat and Slim 360 External HDD Recognition Help

The 360 will only use 16 GB, but your HDD will still work, you just can't use more than 16 GB of it on 360 (should be plenty for some save files).

External USB HDDs really shouldn't care if they are on a fat or a slim. Only the HDDs made for 360s care if they are on fat or slim.

Battlefield 4

The game plays beautifully in multiplayer with the exception of having no more or less lag than any other average online game. There are occasional crashes, but again, no more or less than any other average game. I do believe there still may be problems
with the campaign saves though, so there's that. Also, there are still minor issues with the loadout settings (your class) not always saving properly.

Otherwise, the game itself plays great!

If you let the console set up the 16 GB on a 32 GB flash drive, it puts the ~512 MB reserved space outside the 16 GB. So you will get more usable Xbox 360 storage than if you just use a 16GB flash drive.

(I don't know whether you get back the GB lost to the formatting difference between 16,000,000,000 bytes and 16 x 1,024 x 1,024 x 1,024 on a "16 GB" flash drive, though. That is, a "16 GB" flash drive will be 16 billion bytes, but since the console
uses the 1,024 counting you only get 14.9 GB usable and then it reserves ~512 MB of that for the system.)

That's incorrect. You can use up to 16 GB per USB device, and two devices at a time, for a total of 32 GB of USB storage at a time.

There's an advantage to using a 32 GB flash drive instead of a 16 GB drive, though. A "16 GB" drive is 16,000,000,000 bytes, which becomes 14.9 GB on the Xbox 360 or a computer because they divide by 1,024 rather than 1,000. Then, the Xbox 360 reserves
~512 MB for system use, and you get about 14.4 GB for your own use on the console. A "32 GB" flash drive is seen as 29.8 GB; the 360 gives you a full 16 GB to use, and takes its 512 MB system area from the rest. (So, a computer will then see about 29.8 - 16
- 0.5 = 13.3 GB available for files.)
