My Xbox one's power supply popped and started smoking

It is entirely possible that when a power supply goes it can take your computers in this case Xbox with it. Those popping sounds and smoke were likely capacitors blowing which can send power surges into the console. Attach another power supply to it and cross your fingers.

I would not be to worried about it at this point in time, as long as the brick is not smelling burnt or smoking. Another thing is that if you are behind a surge protector the breaker more than likely popped and reset it self when you unplugged it. Since
it worked fine on another plug you should be ok, for your reference i will include a link to read over to make sure you are doing everything right to properly take care of your power supply and system

My xbox one wont turn on all the way. It starts for a couple seconds then shuts off. No picture on my tv pops up and the power supply ligjt changes color like its supposed to, whote when the xbox TRIES to turn on and orange when it's off.

The original xbox one power supplies had a circuit breaker in them that would pop to protect them from power surges try and follow the steps in this support article

I tried plugging the american one in with an adapter and my power brick sparked and smoked yesterday. Youre saying i cant get the power brick at a store here?

Lars, I would recommend starting your own thread if you're having a different issue, so that we can focus on the issue posted by the user that started this thread and not hijack it or get off track. As for the availability of an Xbox One power supply, I can't
say on the inventory availability of stores near you, but there are online and retail options available for replacements outside of the Microsoft or Xbox store.
