My Xbox One X - Scorpio Story

• On the 21st August 2017, the day pre order of xbox one x became available in the UK, I pre ordered a scorpio edition console.
• On the 7th Nov, launch day in the UK, my console arrived. It worked briefly, if erratically, bombing out of games, UI hanging etc until by the end of the 8th of Nov it would not turn on, only going to the "something went wrong" screen. I work in IT so
  I tried all the system reset options and the offline update option but to no avail.
• I contacted the technical support people and after establishing I'd tried everything I could I said I wanted a refund. The tech support guy persuaded me he could get me replacement console and that it would be an advanced exchange so it would be shipped
  right away. I was happy with this so went with the suggestion.
• When the replacement console arrived my heart sank. Firstly, it was just the console unit in a brown car board box. Not a retail unit at all. Secondly, it was not a Scorpio edition but a standard edition. Thirdly, it was refurbished, a close inspection
  showed damage to the screw on the back which showed it had been opened.

So here I was with a refurbished standard console, a scorpio controller and scorpio retail box and peripherals - sad to say the least.

I decided to get a refund and to just buy a standard console from my local store where at least I could take the thing back quickly if it were to break again. It was now the 21st of Nov...

• I contacted the tech support again and told them this and they said If I contacted the microsoft store where I bought it from they would be able to issue the refund. I contacted the store and they were very apologetic. I was about to opt for a refund when
  I saw a web news article saying there were some scorpio edition consoles available again on the microsoft site ahead of black friday. I thought to myself - I'll get the refund and then just buy one of them - The support person said not to do that as she could
  order the replacement for me and it would be a scorpio edition console. A little warily I accepted and the agent put through the replacement request. She said I had to wait 24 - 48 hr's for the higher support to contact me to organise the shipping etc. I
  was advised to send back the refurbished console.
• I sent the refurbished console back and waited..
• and waited...
• and waited...
• By the 27th of November I had still heard nothing from the higher support.

So here I am now with no working console, no refund in the bank, no contact from microsoft and not only that but now I see consoles being offered at a discount and not only at a discount but with bundled games... Sadder than sad now

• I contacted the store and pointed out my predicament and the agent checked the previous SR details and said it was in the queue and that black friday had been a busy time and that they would probably deal with it by the end of the day (27th of November
  now remember). I said about the bundled games and discounted consoles and he said the higher support would take that all into account when they contacted me... So i waited.... and waited
• It is now the 29th of November and still I have heard nothing from the higher level of support... In the office where my experience had become a bit of running joke. It still is... but it's not a joke for me... The guy behind me ordered a PS4 Pro on Saturday
  and it turned up yesterday being Tuesday. He came in today and was telling me all about the games he's been playing....I'd purchased far harbour, and recore, and the witcher 3, so in anticipation of my 'day one' loyal customer experience...
• I'm still waiting...

I don't know why I'm writing this here because I doubt it will achieve anything other than providing an outlet for my disappointment. In my loft I have a Crystal Xbox, a Xbox 360, and an Xbox One - so I have stuck with the brand loyally through thick and
thin right from the beginning. The Xbox One X was finally going to see the Xbox brand in ascendency once again, after a few years of playing second fiddle to the Sony Playstation, but whilst for the majority this is probably true (and I like reading all the
positive reviews everyday) for me it hasn't happened yet and I'm still waiting....

Intermittent Invalid Format Error on LG Television when using Xbox One

I am having this same issue with my Xbox One X Scorpio on my LG OLED TV.

 

Concerns about the reported problems about the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition.

I just purchased an Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition off of Amazon and I'm concerned about the failure rate, heat, fan noise and other problems with Scorpio Xbox One Xs by reading the forums off of Xbox.com and others. I haven't opened up the retail box
yet. Should I return it and get an regular Xbox One X or an 1-2 TB Xbox One S?
