    my Xbox One won't turn on after experiencing a power outage


    This morning I had a power outage, afterwards I went to turn on my Xbox One using my controller and my controller started to flash so i thought it was disconnected from my console and went to turn it on. I could not turn on my console, it made the start
    up noise but very faintly and it still did not turn on. I tried pressing the eject button but to no avail, I tried to turn it on again but nothing worked. I tried to hard reset it and that did not work even after trying it 4 times. I formerly had my power
    supply unit plugged into an extension cord because I didn't know any better so I unplugged it and plugged it into a wall power supply, hard reset the console and it still makes the faint noises but it does not turn on. This has never happened to me before
    and I was wondering if it had to do with my power brick or if I have to completely replace the console?

    Thanks for the reply! I've tried power cycling and trying other wall outlets, but nothing has worked. The power supply still stays solid orange. I think I'm going to look for a replacement and hopefully that's it, I don't think there's much more I can do as is.

    Ah, these seems like it may be the issue. I'm gonna look for a replacement to see if it was just the power supply, and hopefully not the console itself. Thanks!

    The power supply may have defective electrolytic capacitors. This may prevent devices from turning on after a power outage (I've had that happen many years ago with a JVC SVHS video recorder after unplugging it before going on vacation). If possible, try hooking up your console to another power supply to see if it will work and if so then that likely confirms that your original power supply has to be replaced (It's not likely worth repairing given the cost of parts/labour).
