My Xbox One won't download my Xbox 360 profile (says "can't connect" while trying to download).

When I run a Xbox 360 backwards compatible game on my Xbox one, it doesn't sign in. When I try to sign in, it tells me to download a profile. When I try to do that, it says "checking network status" for 15 seconds and then says "Can't connect to Xbox Live,
Select Test Connection to troubleshoot your connection. For more info go to xbox.com/support", with the options "Test Connection" and "Cancel", no error code or anything. My internet works fine.

"Solutions" that didn't work:

Clearing Xbox 360 cache

Changing console DNS to automatic, and to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Using a wired connection

Using a wireless connection

Reinstalling games

Turning off two-step verification

Changing password

Wow sir, thanks a lot, IT WORKED! I can't believe the solution was this easy yet it was nowhere to be found on the internet, you've just saved all my Xbox 360 games. I'm forever in your debt haha. Good day.

Go to your network settings, advanced settings and then choose an alternate port. This is a fix for me that has always worked. The default 3074 has issues. I picked a different one and it worked right away. I picked 53161.

Hello, my xbox live profile is called "RinsableMLG" and today for some reason, I can't play xbox 360 backwards compatible games be ause my profile won't download on the xbox 360 servers. I can play xbox one games, but I can't play my xbox 360 games
and my profile won't download and it states "There's a problem with your credentials, blah blah blah". If I use my other two accounts, I can play on the xbox 360 games but not my RinsableMLG one. I seriosuly don't know what to do and I'm panicking right now.

I have the exact same problem. I was just trying to play saints row but couldn't connect to xbox live on backwards compatibility. So I deleted my account and now I can't download on backwards compatibility with the same error message as you.

when i try to download my profile, it stalls at my game info and then says xbox live profiles can't be downloaded. When i go to my storage it says my profile is corrupt, so i tried to delete just the profile but it came back saying this process couldnt be
completed. Then i tried to delete the profile and items and that option worked, but it still won't let me download my profile. each time i try to download it, it either stalls at my game info, or won't even start to download.

I am just now having this issue for the first time. A couple weeks ago I was able to play Halo Reach on my Xbox One but today, when I load it up, it won't connect to Xbox live. My Xbox One is on a wired connection - open NAT and all services good - however
the "360" won't connect. I tried correctly hard restarting the console twice, clearing the 360 saved data, and playing other games but all have the same issue. The "360" cannot connect to Live. I also tried deleting my 360 profile like suggested in a number
of forums but when I go to sign in and download the profile, it can't connect anyway in order to download the profile.
