My Xbox One Wireless Controller's left analog stick is slightly drifting up.

I had this problem for some time already and I fineally wanted to do something with it.

The left analog stick is slightly drifting up whenever I leave it by itself, so in the "dead zone" or something like that. (?) I can't open it because I don't have a Torx Security Screwdriver, so I don't actually know what is wrong with it. I already tried
some things like: rubbing alcohol, "punching" it, pulling it up and then pushing down, swapping the analog sticks in the Xbox settings a few times etc. but nothing worked. All answers are welcome, thanks in advance!

I use an Xbox One Limited Edition Halo 5: Guardians Wireless Controler. (maybe it'll help, idk)

    :)

FPS gamers, what is the average life span of your analog sticks?

    Hello everyone :)

I just replaced the Xbox One controller that came with my Kinectless Xbox One bundle yesterday so it lasted me 8 months.

The left analog stick wasn't very responsive to Destiny's click it down to run function and the right analog stick was drifting up (making it hard for me to snipe without having to compensate for the up drift).

Have a nice day or afternoon or night everyone :)

    Day One controller thumsticks drifting

I am having the same problem. My left analog stick is drifting up, and it is getting worse, almost to the point where I can't control it. Microsoft needs a fix, nothing is broken in the controller, seems like a calibration is needed. Is there a way to
    recalibrate the analog sticks?

    Xbox controllers are the worst

I just did a google search for analog stick drift and found this thread. I have a black official 360 wireless controller that has this problem. It's one of the newer models with the glossy finish. The left analog stick drifts downward when I'm playing games.
When I leave the controller alone without me touching it, my character keeps moving backwards as if the analog stick is being pushed downwards. I've tried opening the controller up and switching the sticks, but that didn't help. I don't really want to buy
another new controller in case I have the same problem. I'll have to find one of the older models (which don't have the glossy finish) - never had this problem with any of the earlier controller models. I don't think the older models are being manufactured
any more though so I'll have to look for a used one I guess.

    Controller Auto Off

Wireless when it happens. Also have had a headset plugged in to the 3.5mm port lately, which I rarely did before the NXOE update.

Noticed today that my right analog stick is slightly loose in comparison to the left stick. Would a slight amount of slop away from center cause the controller to stay on? It isn't loose enough to cause any on screen drift or actual commands to register
yet though that I have noticed.

Controller and console are less than 6 months old at this point.

Xbox ONE controllers are poorly manufactured :(

called analog / stick drift.... it will happen... all my 360 controllers did this... considering the left stick is the most used... and chances are you play games that rely heavily on this stick... (FPS).. no wonder that one function will wear down over
    time
