my Xbox one will show the green boot screen but after that it just goes to a black screen.

On your Xbox console:

Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired network connection.

Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.

Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.

Press and hold the Pair button (located on the left side of the console) and the EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the Xbox button on the console.

****Note The Xbox S All-Digital does not have an EJECT button. On this console you only need to hold the Pair button (steps 5 & 6) and then press the Xbox button .

Continue holding the Pair and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.

Listen for two "power-up" tones a couple of seconds apart.

***Note If you don't hear two power-up tones after 15 seconds, it means this failed. Likewise, if you hear any "power-down" chirps, that also means this failed.

You can release the Pair and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.

Once the console restarts, you should see the digital setup experience to guide you through resetting your console.

***Note The console restart may take several minutes. If you’re using a wired connection, plug your network cable back into the console. If you have never connected your console to the internet, you will need to connect at least once during the system setup process.

I highly advise you to go over the steps mentioned below to perform a physical reset:

- Turn off the console unplug all the cables then re-plug them back again.

- Click on the "Bind" and "Eject" buttons at the same time after 10 seconds click the home "X" button just once without letting go of the two buttons. Throughout the whole process you will hear two beep sounds and end up with a troubleshooting page. On your screen. You will need to select the "Reset this Xbox" option and choose "Reset and keep my games and apps".

How long did you leave it for?

During a cold boot it will show the logo then black screen for up to a minute before the green boot screen shows up.

I try to power cycle it as my first step every time this happens, still boots to green screen and then goes black.
