on fortnite I get 60 fps but when I am in the midgame i get fps like from 30-45 fps even tho i have wired connection that is really fast and I only have fortnite installed and have 6% of the storage used and i still get bad FPS any fixes?

It's down to game developers to configure their game's graphics and ensure their game hits the target framerate. While developers could technically offer graphics/performance settings on console, it's very uncommon for games to have them as console gaming is focused more on ease of use. PC games have these settings because there's a wide variety of PC configurations, whereas console hardware does not have much variety. This means it's easier to optimise a console game to run with a specific graphic configuration; this has additional benefits such as games using less storage for different quality textures and other assets.

Xbox One S and Xbox One X support 120Hz at 1080p, although I don't believe there are any Xbox One titles which run at 120fps.

Rebooting your console can help solve performance issues in some cases, I do recommend trying that if you haven't already.

Facts! even small games which are 2D run on 40fps, there is a 120 hz option but I highly doubt that if i enable it I won't get 60+ fps but rather the same 40 fps

he is on about fps, fortnite barely runs 60fps on xbox one as it is, fps will drop with the latest updates especially with more stuff on the screen.
