    My Xbox One S started transmitting a wifi, is this normal?


    I noticed that my Xbox One S, which I have had for 8 years, have started transmitting a wireless network, WEP-encrypted and with a hidden SSID.

    The network stays on until I unplug the power cord (the console doesn't have to be on). The network reaches far outside from my home. The Mac-address isn't the same that is visible on my Xbox's settings but it is fixed (doesn't seem to change over time). Sometimes the network just drops away for a minute or a few.

    This all sounds very strange to me. A very poorly secured wifi broadcasted by my Xbox. Is this normal?

    I had a problem with my router transmitting at 2.4ghz and it conflicted with all my other wireless devices

    I’m having the same exact issue with my Xbox One S believe it or not.. Power cycled thousands of times, conifgured the DMZ on my router to ensure my xbox’s NAT is open, wifi strength is %90-%100, and it just recently started happening out of nowhere.
