Im getting these Vertical Lines on a brand new tv while playing games

My tv doesn’t support 4k UHD at 120 Hz

My tv doesn’t support 120Hz, Games won’t display at 120 FPS.

These are the only ones I can’t do but can I buy a 2.1 cable to enable Variable Refresh Rate (VRR)? It’s greyed out for me currently

Edit: I did the factory reset and did nothing. Still shows vertical lines

My xbox one s doesn’t display the 120 fps even though it is enabled on the settings on the xbox as 1440p at 120hz and my monitor’s setting display is 120 (monitor AOC CQ27G2U)

Hello, I'm Felipe and I'm an independent Community Expert, and I'll do my best to help you.

There are a few reasons why your Xbox One S might not be displaying the 120 fps even though it's enabled in the settings. Here are a few things you can try:

Check the HDMI cable: Make sure the HDMI cable you are using to connect your Xbox One S to the monitor is compatible with the 1440p resolution and supports a 120Hz refresh rate.

Update the firmware of your monitor: Check to see if there is a firmware update available for your monitor. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve compatibility issues.

Check the video output settings on your Xbox One S: Go to "Settings" > "Display and sound" > "Video output" and make sure the output resolution is set to 1440p and the refresh rate is set to 120Hz.

Make sure your monitor supports 120Hz refresh rate: Some monitors only support a maximum refresh rate of 60Hz, so check the specifications of your monitor to make sure it supports a refresh rate of 120Hz.

If none of these steps help, you may need to contact the manufacturer of your monitor for further assistance.

Xbox serie x 120 FPS TV Samsung 55TU8005

hi i would like to have 120 fps on my tv with my serie x , i take yu a screenshot of settings tv, i dont understand why in settings xbox they dont proposed 120 fps at 4k but i can play 120 fps at 1080p ?
You won't get 120 fps on that TV, as it's only a 60hz display, 60hz = 60 fps at most

To get up to 120 fps at 4K, you need a TV that supports 120hz and has HDMI 2.1 ports and again your TV only has HDMI 2.0 ports, but most games on the Series X are locked to 60 fps at 4K,

Something like the LG CX is the best TV to get at the moment, and that's a TV that can go 4K at 120hz,

    A 60hz display = up to a maximum of 60 fps

    A 120hz display = up to a maximum of 120 fps.

Black screen after manual override of 120HZ

Hi LIAMSHARMAN! My name is Ricardo an independent advisor ready to help you with this situation!

If you have an Xbox Series S console, or if your TV doesn’t support HDMI 2.1, you can still enable 120 Hz gaming at a lower resolution. To do this, set your Refresh rate on the TV & display options screen to 120 Hz. If your resolution was previously set to 4K, the console will automatically adjust the resolution to support the 120 Hz refresh rate. Otherwise, select a resolution from the available options.

If you own an Xbox Series S and wish to game in 4K@120Hz, you’ll need to acquire a certified Ultra High Speed HDMI cable.

My screen turn on black when i try to run a game on 120 FPS

Hello, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

My name is welcome to the community.

Hello Eslam, does this happen with all games or just with a specific game?

See the link below how to set up your console to 120 FPS.

"Games that have been boosted to 120 FPS require a 120 Hz-capable TV and your console's display settings set to 120 Hz. If your TV or console is not configured to support 120 Hz, FPS boost will be grayed out."
