    My Xbox one reads Seagate Hard Drive as Full and it's Not


    I have an 8 terabyte Xbox hard drive that worked really well until my Xbox crashed one time. The Xbox would no longer read it I updated my Xbox and it now shows up but says its storage is completely full but when I use the Seagate tool on windows for my hard drive it says the hard drive is working properly. Is this an issue with the Xbox or hard drive and how can I fix it?

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

    To fix this, please perform a power cycle on your console by following the steps below:

    POWERCYCLE CONSOLE​​​

    ​​​

    1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

    2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​​

    If that didn't work resetting the console keeping games and apps will be the next option. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

    Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

    Select Reset console.

    Reset and keep my games & apps.

    No the seagate HDD is not the cause. I've had two attached for a couple of years now

    Is one of the hard drives full or nearly full?

    If it is then maybe the game on the full HDD cant update so the full game gets downloaded on the other drive?

    I recently had the same issue. I was using a Seagate 1TB external hard drive. The xbox itself may not be the issue. It could very well be the hard drive itself. I plugged mine into another xbox, it did not read, also plugged into PC, did not read. Possible
    the hard drive may have crashed and may just have to buy a new one.
