    my XBOX ONE kinect won't turn on and is making a buzzing sound


    I have had this kinect for a while now but a few days ago it just stopped working.
    I am 80% sure that the power brick is fine, and when I plug in the kinect to PC / XBOX
    the kinect connected notification comes on for a second but doesn't actually do anything. also
    I hear a buzzing sound coming from the device itself. I have opened up to see what is going on.
    the buzzing seems to come from somewhere around the power circutery.
    I am suspicious of either the transformer or the capacitor (I don't know if a capacitor can make that sound) there also seems to be an inductor in that area and that could be it too. I am not sure really.

    there is no sign of damage anywhere on the bord (at least I haven't seen any)
    no burn marks, no leakage and no sign of damage to any of the chips.
    I really don't want to send it somewhere to be fixed and the problem sounds like a single component has failed. I need to track down what component it is. does anybody know what has gone wrong here?
    or any tests that I can do to figure out what is wrong?

    If it was turned on, you could have the Xbox have it buzz, but if it's not on there is no way to have it make a sound
