My Xbox shuts down every time I try to play a game, ive tried the power cycle, I've tried deleting my profile. None of it works. I just got this console and this is very frustrating. Please help!

console shutting down by itself.

Hi, my issue is that my console keeps shutting down by itself after 45 minutes or so. The weird thing is that it only shuts down when playing games. When I'm watching Netflix it will stay on for hours. Not sure what's going on or how to solve it. Thank

Xbox keeps shutting down.

My Xbox keeps shutting down to prevent overheating. There is nothing blocking the vents. I tried unplugging overnight, but continues to shut down after 3-5 minutes. Fan comes on and red light flashes for less than a minute.

Make sure all the power connections are secure on your console. Are you plugged into the wall outlet or into a power strip?

i have it all secure, it's plugged into a power bar that worked before I plugged it in

I do understand but try plugging it in to the wall outlet. It is suggested that they not be plugged into a power strip. Let us know if it is still doing it.

After trying the methods listed, I started Marvel's Avengers but after 5 minutes of play, the Xbox suddenly shut down again. Could it be that the Game is causing the problem? Because with all my other titles it works perfectly. Thanks

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately these options did not help. I was able to do a 'Reset and Keep Games' , reconnect my Xbox live account, but the same issue happened. Approximately 10 minutes into the game it shut down the Xbox instantly. I've also confirmed
that my games and software are all up to date. Is there anything else I can try?
