Is my Xbox One defective?

Had to put in a service request. This seems to be how my drive operates now.

1. put in disk, hear slight grind sound

2. put in disk, does not read it, keep trying, sometimes 10-15 times.

3. put in disk, hear slight grind, remove disk and hear elongated grind sound.

It also seems to be getting worse as far as #2 goes. Wonder how long service takes.

Is my Xbox One defective?

@Your Dead McFly I wasn't able to connect with an Ethernet cable, but I upgraded my modem/router from the Gateway Comcast gave me, and it fixed all my problems. I think the Xbox One's drivers just don't work well with Comcast's gateway. Put all of
my issues have been erased and my netflix and other apps run alot faster... this was the experience I was looking for when I bout my Xbox One.

Check the settings as a guide: Troubleshooting a Blank Screen TV or Monitor While Your Xbox One is on

Try cleaning the console cache with the power cycle system: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/power-cycle-console

Otherwise, if you are sure it does not depend on the HDMI cable, you will have to reset the console to the factory settings:

1) Turn off the console

2) Press and hold the "BIND" button and the "EJECT"

3) Continue holding the "BIND" and "EJECT" buttons for few seconds

4) Listen for two tones

5) You can release the "BIND" and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone

6) Select "Restore" with "Reset and keep my games & apps"

Try to do a power cycle: You will need to press and HOLD the power button on your CONSOLE until the LIGHT turns OFF. Next you will need to unplug your console from the wall and wait 2 minutes. After the 2 minutes are up restart the console.

If this doesn't work I would suggest trying to do a factory reset.

I had the same thing happen to me, I turned my Xbox One S on and it acted like a new console. I have had it since launch.

I'm kinda upset about this because we have tried "extended power cycle on the system and router and this does not solve this issue
