My Xbox One disc drive does this weird thing

as long as the discs are normal round discs that are in balance (so no weird shapes or things attached on the disc), they cannot damage the disc drive.

If the are a weird shape or things attached to it, it might bounce around and may damage the drive.

You have names mixed up. There are no consoles named the Xbox One Series S or Xbox One Series X.

The Xbox One/One S/One X all have a disc drive.

The Xbox One S All Digital Edition does not have a disc drive.

The Xbox Series X has a disc drive.

The Xbox Series S does not have a disc drive.

All the consoles can play backward compatible games. The Series S and One S all digital edition can only play games digitally downloaded.

The other consoles can play games from disc and from digitally downloaded,

Thank you for keeping us updated. That does seem like a weird error message for a disc game. Now, there are a few things that would cause this problem. Either the hard drive you are using is not an official Xbox hard drive, your console needs an update or
the disc is unreadable and needs to be replaced.

Try making sure your
console is fully up to date.

I had a brief encounter, similar to this, I thought it might have been a knackered disc drive but then a DVD works... Put game back in and it works. Does your console occasionally make a weird noise from the disc drive?

My blu-ray player messes up also. It doesn't make any weird sounds or any grinding noises. It just says insert disc. So I have to eject and reinsert disc several times before it will recognize the movie. It's done it a couple times with games too.

Does anybody else have this happen? Why does this happen? One more thing to mention is it happens randomly, I can go several days without it doing it. It's weird right?
