    my Xbox literally will not do anything (what do I do?)


    this started when one day I tried to play UFC3. I inserted the disc and it never got past the loading screen; it wasn't frozen it simply wasn't loading. when I tried to turn it off and nothing would work except unplugging the thing. after that it hasn't been able to do anything, it's just showed a black screen. then I discovered how to factory reset (or attempt to) every time I tried the factory reset it just stated something went wrong, same deal with troubleshooting, then I tried an offline system update and it just said preparing console, so I decided to go to sleep and when I woke up like 7 hours later it said the same thing and hadn't gone past 0% and I can't find any solutions past that. this has been a nearly 3 week odyssey and i have no idea where to go from here

    I highly recommend following the troubleshooting steps here:

    After each step try to see if the issue is fixed!

    First, please select System > Settings > network > network settings >advanced settings > Alternate Mac address : Clear > restart.

    Then, hold down the power button for about 10 seconds, until the console shuts off, then unplug the power cord and wait for 2 to 3 minutes before plugging it back in and turn on the Xbox

    if the issue persists, see if you’re experiencing an issue related to Network Address Translation (NAT): Troubleshoot NAT multiplayer Troubleshoot NAT multiplayer game issues

    If the issue persists, please follow these steps in order to reset your console:

    1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.
    2.Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

    if you are still encountering the same issue, please try the following solutions mentioned on the link bellow in order to perform an offline update:
