My Xbox Keeps Scrolling to the right and has a mind of it's own

Hi Preston,

This sounds like a system glitch but if you have tried everything in regards to restarts and resets then it's possible the controller's joystick is drifting. Do you happen have another controller to try? If the issue remains then it's a system glitch but
if it doesn't then the controller's joystick is drifting to the right.

I recommend trying some of the basic troubleshooting a few more times. Go ahead and do a

hard reset and power cycle. Hold down the power button on the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down and then remove the power cable from the Xbox and the power outlet for about 2-3 minutes. Then re-connect and
turn on the Xbox. If you have your Xbox plugged into a surge protector power strip, don't plug it in there after the power cycle and instead plug it directly into a wall socket.

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your console.

I had a similar issue with my 1X a couple of months ago my son had dropped the controller and the right bumper button was jammed this caused the console to keep moving right.

Check the button and see if it moves.

If the controller looks ok do a full power cycle by shutting down the console and then unplug the console from the power wait for 5minutes while the console is off remove the battery from the controller then put it back in and turn everything back on.

Hello, After reading, you said your Power Supply is making weird sounds? please make sure your Power Brick is in a well ventilated area as the fan inside may have no air to push into the power brick. and if your console is the older style (Not the Xbox Slim)
then they make louder noises. your account isn't hacked, as for the menu issues, im not sure. was a controller light illuminated? you could have hit a controller, turned it on and hit any of the sticks/bumpers/D-Pad.
