My Xbox keeps saying “Check your hard drives…”

It says “we’re having trouble getting data from a hard drive, which might mean it’s going bad. If you keep seeing this message, your Xbox or your external storage (if any) might need replacing. (0x80070017)”

I have a external storage, never had issues in the past and it says I still have terabytes of storage left on it.

    What do I do?

    :)

XBOX LIVE membership info isn't valid.

Check under your Hard Drive or device you keep your profile on that your account is not corrupted. And ALWAYS triple check that your info is correct.

Call of duty ghost captain price pack won’t download

Do you have an external hard drive plugged into your console? If yes, to check if it's the console or the hard drive let's try to install a game with the hard drive unplugged.

Please unplug the external hard drive then perform a powercycle before installing the add-on. Make sure to keep the hard drive unplugged.

    1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

    2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

    Kinect update to console

as much as it pains me to say i believe it is the hard drive... i guess now the only thing to wonder why it works fine with other games and not the kinect... and if its just a bad hard drive i was it bought bad or did my xbox make it corrupt ? this is the
second hard drive i've gone through since ive owned the system. any thoughts ? i just dont want to keep investing in hard drives if my system is going to keep corrupting them.
