  1. my xbox is not controlling my new tv

so i have just bought a sharp aquos 4k tv and set it up with the xbox one. the old tv would come on and go off with the xbox and voice commands would work such as volume up and down but i can't get it to work on the new tv. i have gone into the hdmi cec
settings on the tv and turned them on but when i go down to devises (on the tv) it will not find my xbox. when i go on the xbox to set it up the device controler it wont pick up the tv throw the guid me function or throw entering the make and model i even
put the remote code in that the tv setup instructions came with for a sky remote and that dose noting.

is there anything else i can do or is there something that i can buy to do this i don't know what i am doing wrong?

    yes my kinect is working

    :)

xbox controlling the tv, should it be powering it on and off?

I setup my xbox, selected my tv, all the functions it tried worked. all was well.

My question/concern is... should it be turning the tv off with the console? because it is not... but I want it to...

It does turn the tv on though.

I checked the vieralink menu in my tv, and it has HDMI off enabled (Im not sure if its controlling the tv through CEC or IR though).

TV Control no longer works after Sept update just released

My TV has worked fine since day one (on my day one console) with my TV. Earlier, I did the normal Xbox On command, but noticed my TV did not turn on as usual. After manually turning it on, I tried to issue the Volume Up command, which no lonter worked.

I have tried automatically finding my TV code, which it does, but the commands do not work still. I have also tried it manually again without luck while choosing my exact model.

My TV is a LG 55LM8600, which is a fairly new LED TV. No problems with controlling it until today after the latest update.

my xbox is not controlling my new tv

    Hi, give this a try.

On the Xbox go to settings/ Tv & OneGuide/ Troubleshooting, select the Reset Tv settings option, you'll then need to set up your Kinect to control the new Tv.

    Good Luck

    HDMI TV Control

the xbox does not support cec or hdmi control, you would need to go to tv setting on the xbox and setup tv control again as it may have lost the code, the xbox controls tv's via infrared only.
I have this same issue, I just got my Xbox One X, and set up the Xbox to control my TV as well, and the Xbox says it recognizes my TV and is controlling it, and will turn itit onon and off, but when it comes to controlling the volume nothing will happen.

    XBox Issues

Good news! I got Alexa control working again on the Xbox. Since Alexa sends the signal to the Xbox to turn the volume up/down on the TV, I went to TV control settings in the Xbox settings. Someone had played around with these settings and turned off TV control.
Now Alexa can control the Xbox/TV volume again.

Unfortunately, the problem with the Xbox app connecting to my Xbox continues. Any advice on this would be appreciated! Thank you for the responses so far!

Xbox Elite Series 2 controller connects to Samsung frame TV, but does not work to control any functions on screen

    I have the same issue:

    * the plain Xbox controller (non elite) connects via bluetooth to the TV and is recognised by the Xbox cloud app on my Samsung TV. I can use it to play games using the Samsung Xbox app.

    * the brand new Xbox Elite Series 2 controller connects via bluetooth to the TV and is NOT recognised by the Xbox cloud app.

I tried several attempts deleting the pairing, re-pairing. Turn off TV on the power switch. Re-installing the Xbox app on the Samsung TV.

The result is always the same:

    * The Xbox Elite Series 2 controller connects successfully to the TV and is shown as Paired and Connected in the Samsung TVs feature where you add external devices.
    * But the Xbox app shows the yellow ! exclamation mark and does not recognise the Elite Controller.

I’ve paired my other non Elite standard Xbox controller now vie Bluetooth and USB, which works both.
