My Xbox is in a open area but every time I open a game is overheats and shuts off

I’ve had my series S for a few years, but a few months ago, I had to stop using the console, after I turn off the console I hear like a clicking noise around the fan area, then after about 5-10 minutes or like 5 minutes I open a game it shuts off and when I turn it back on it gives me a notification of it overheating, I can replace it myself but is it the fan or can I be something else?

The fan has likely failed and it will have to be repaired

It's overheating. Make sure the vents are clean and that the console has enough space for ventilation (about 2 inches on every side). If it still overheats, move it to an area with more ventilation. If it's out in the open, then it needs to be serviced.

That's a little cramped but it looks like it should be okay. It might be a combination of being a bit cramped and playing an intense game. I see on your gamercard that you've been playing GTA V which is a pretty strenuous game for your console to play.
I'm thinking that the console might be overheating due to playing that game while being a bit cramped. Is there a way you can place your console in a more open area (not on carpet, since that can make it overheat as well) and see if it continues to shut itself
off. If it does, tell us how hot it is in the open location and if it feels hotter/less hot/the same as when it was in the original spot.

If it continues to shut itself off in an open area, it would probably be safe to send it in for a repair again just to be sure. When you receive a console back from repair, the console has a 90 day repair warranty so it won't cost you anything to send it in
again. So if it continues to overheat (personally) it would be worth it to send it in again just to be sure it's fine.
