Thank you so much! I was worried I'd have to take apart or scrap my xbox after I experienced the black screen of death. I did the steps you provided for a factory reset and it works again!

After yesterday's update on my Xbox I ended up in an endless black screen of death. Tried all the eject-pair without getting any result. I tried holding eject-pair first and THEN turn on the xbox! And finally the reset to factory settings came around!

Its called the black screen of death u need to factory reset ur xbox to fix this error i seen peoples xbox one s have the error but if they hold there xbox controller x in the middle it would show turn off xbox or controller it might be not this the rarety
of this happening is unknowed

Yeah same thing was happening to me. I tried everything unplugging the ethernet cable and reseting my internet, hard restarting my console, then i even reset the quality of my console, thought I had gotten the black screen of death. But no it’s just another
microsft problem like always
