My Xbox is acting like a waste of plastic and metal.

Ive tried that, but it still does that with my other controller when I connect that controller, too. Again, Ive already tried updating my controllers. To be honest i dont think there is a solution.

Have you tried to update the controller via settings?

Plug in controller an update it that may resolve the issues

I had a very similar issue. Found out I was getting interference from another wireless signal. I kept causing my controller to drop connection. Might want to look into it.

A nicer box and a little bit of metal instead of plastic. -.-

hmm. so lets forget about right to repair but shouldn't there be a software which does not check if a disc drive or wifi card is present? a completely functional unit needs to be thrown away because of a single hardware failure? it does not compromise security of the console in any way. of course i dont want to waste money for this but yes plastic is a thing. I do my bit for the environment like avoid plastic bags, segregate and dispose plastic waste seperately, etc. And then there are corporations like these; I wonder what they have to say about environmental impact.
