My xbox gold subscription is ending 4 months early (ends next month)

I got a 12 month gift card for xbox gold but I dont remember the exact day I redeemed the gift card, I just know it was sometime early May and around that time I my xbox wouldn't allow me to buy gold straight off of the console itself for some reason so
I got a gift card instead. Mind you I also had xbox game pass at the time and it was about to expire either the next day or a few days ahead, I redeemed it and check my subscriptions and billing and its going to end in 4 months so i thought maybe it was a
bonus to buying xbox gold (if you buy xbox gold and then you get xbox game pass for a 1 month or something like that). Anyway I need help and I still have the gift card with me, I just know my subscription shouldn't be expiring in September but in May 2021

It sounds like you had a Game Pass Ultimate subscription, not just Game Pass. Since Ultimate includes bot Gold and Game Pass if you add a standard prepaid code for those, they are automatically converted to Ultimate. So since you still had an active Ultimate
subscription when you entered your code, your Gold was upgraded to Ultimate (there would have been a pop up that warned you of this at that time too). When adding Gold or Game Pass to Ultimate, the conversion is based on price rather than time. 12 months of
Gold is equal to 4 months of Ultimate. In order to get the full 12 months next time, you'll want to make sure your Ultimate subscription has completely ended before adding the new code.

So will the promotion be there after the subscription to gold has ended? I too would like to take advantage of the 3.99/month deal when my gold ends next month.

Support will check your gold, but it's too early to see credits pending for March purchases. Rebates are calculated after the end of the month and given by the 15th of the next month.
