    My Xbox gamer tag got changed randomly


    So my account out of no were got changed from [Mod Removed] to something like sillyfawn180091. I was sent a message from Xbox in my messages that it hadn’t followed one of the rules of gamer tags but I’ve had this gamer tag since around December 2015. Plus
    I don’t see anything wrong with [Mod Removed] and now it wants me to charge 10$ to get another one. Nothing is even wrong with my name and I am super mad with Xbox right now.

    I logged onto xbox live and went to sign in and it said I have to download my profile again. I entered in my information then my gamer tag was all a sudden JollyKid3626959. I never got a warning or a notification saying that my gamer tag changed. I would

    To add to what M3tal Daz3 said

    You get a free gamer tag change if you were given a randomly generated gamer tag when you first set the account up.

    If you got to pick your own gamertag at the time you set your account up or if you changed it from the randomly generated one then you would have to pay for a gamer tag change.

    Free change no longer exists if you picked your own gamertag. It used to be you got one free regardless now you only get a free change if you were randomly renerated your gamer tag
