My xbox friends list doesn’t appear with anyone online when people are on

First off, are you part of the Xbox Insider Preview program?

Have you tried to power cycle by pressing and holding the power button till fully off then wait 60 seconds and power up again. Also try rebooting your router.

You can also try removing your account from the console by going to settings, account, remove account. Do a power cycle then add your account back on. You will need your email address and password for this.

It does not work buddy, tried it.

Since the last update on the xbox dash its messed up the friends list some how, example it will say i have 90 friends online then none then it updates itself then it adds your friends very slow, could be stuck on 6 or so for a long time.

The power shut down with a cache clean does help, but it just comes back after a hour or two of gaming..

How to clean your cache.

1. Press the xbox button in center of your pad.

2. Goto setting's.

3. Devices & streaming.

4. Scroll right to Blu ray.

5. Click on Persistent storage. "this is your cache"

6. Clear persistent storage. "recommend to clear it 5 times"

7. Return back to the dashboard.

Please also use the xbox Hard Reset

Reboot your router switch it off, remove the power lead for 30s to 1min, Plug power lead back in and switch it back on, it will take a few mins to fully reboot.

But i am sure the dashboard needs an update, as all my friends are saying the same thing.

So I'm in the insider program, and this has been been happening the entire month of March, so I assume it has to do with the Dashboard changes, its honest super annoying and I really expected it to be fixed by now

People can appear offline, this is useful for when I don't want to play with people on my friends list.

Yes im having this problem also. It also does not tell me when people come online anymore

Yh this has been happening to me too. No friend notifications or Xbox app notifications and it’s really annoying. Non of my Xbox app notifications works anymore even for chats. It’s also annoying when I’m shown as on ‘home’ when I’m watching YouTube Netflix or twitch so I just appear offline so it doesn’t look I left my Xbox on.
