    My Xbox Elite Series 2 controller WILL NOT connect to my PC with my USB-C cable


    I bought a new Elite Series 2 controller 3 weeks ago and it has been fine.

    Today however it refuses to connect to my pc with my cable. My PC does not have bluetooth so the cable is my only option.

    I cannot get a hold of Xbox Support at all. Twitter takes forever to get a response. I can't call them for this issue apparently. Everytime I try and schedule a repair I get to the "enter a shipping address" section, enter my address, and it sends me right back to the "enter shipping address" section like I didn't just enter it.

    I just want the controller to be fixed and this is outrageous!

    USB-C cables

    That's because pc gamer forgot a certain detail

    Xbox one gen 2 and older controllers use micro USB

    Gen 3 which are series s/x controllers with backwards compatibility uses usb type c

    You are mixing the old gen with current gen controllers

    The reason why is because of the speed of the charging and following universal standards as per the current regulations in most countries over charging

    the plug n play charge battery is the same for both, it is the charging cable that is different. the series x version comes with a USB C cable and the standard xbox one comes with a micro usb cable.

    i couldnt get the usb c version for my series controller so i just bought the xbox one version and use a third party usb c cable for charging.

    Hi. I've managed to now buy another usb to usb-c cable and I have now tried it on every usb connector my pc has with both wires and it doesn't work.

    In device manager there are no differences between when it is plugged in or not.

    I have tried all this on my laptop and it is the same.

    The controller still charges but is unusable.

    Thanks for the reply. I'm pretty sure I had tried more than one cable over the course of a few days between both PC's, but I definitely just tried another USB-C cable I have on-hand. All USB-C's I've tried came with either my Elite controller of the Microsoft Xbox Battery Kit.

    Xbox Elite Controller 2 firmware update

    Don't use the Wireless adapter for Firmware Updates and you should be all good.

    Should be USB-A -> USB-C or USB-C -> USB-C.

    My Elite 2 came with a cord.
